We have developed a .Net running under Windows XP. Every few days the operating system stops our app running for about 5 seconds. We've done diagnosis, adjustment of garbage collector and page file settings. Can anyone suggest what else can be done to remove the problem. We have tested our application under Windows Vista and the same thing happens (possibly slightly less frequently). However Windows XP stops all apps whereas Vista only stops our app.
